چکیده
The objective of this research was to define the potential brackish groundwater for 15 systems biosaline agriculture in a representative area Brazilian semi-arid region. study conducted using database State Ceará, with 6284 wells having water (EC ? 0.8 dS m?1 and discharge rate 0.5 m3 h?1). Our results show that resources depends on set data: (i) production system (crop salt tolerance demand) (ii) source (salinity well rate). joint analysis these data shows plant lesser requirements, even moderate levels stress, present better than more tolerant species, including halophytes coconut orchards. About 41, 43, 58, 69, 82% have enough rates irrigate forage cactus (1.0 ha), sorghum ha supplemental irrigation), hydroponic cultivation, cashew seedlings, respectively, without restrictions terms salinity. Otherwise, 65.8 71.2% do not yield an 1.0 palm trees, butmore 98.3 90.7% reach salinity threshold crops. also indicates need diversification use multiple farms (intercropping, association fish/shrimp plants), sustainability tropical drylands, especially family farming.

Potential of medicinal plants from the Brazilian semi-arid region (Caatinga) against Staphylococcus epidermidis planktonic and biofilm lifestyles.
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE Medicinal plants from the Caatinga, a Brazilian xeric shrubland, are used in folk medicine to treat infections. These ethnopharmacological data can contribute to obtaining new antimicrobial/antibiofilm extracts and natural product prototypes for the development of new drugs. The aim of this study was to investigate the antibiofilm and antibacterial activities of 4...
متن کاملZooplankton assemblages in eutrophic reservoirs of the Brazilian semi-arid.
Species composition, density, and temporal dynamics of zooplankton were studied in six reservoirs in a semi-arid region in tropical northeastern Brazil (Rio Grande do Norte state). All the reservoirs are highly eutrophic, with high contents of total nitrogen (minimum of 1200 µg.L(-1)) and total phosphorus (minimum of 10 µg.L(-1)), and extremely high algal biomass was registered (surpassing 20 µ...

Larvicidal potential of the extracts from different parts viz. green and red fruits, seeds, fruit without seeds, leaves and roots of Withania somnifera in different solvents was evaluated against larvae of Anopheles stephensi, Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus, the important disease vectors prevalent in the semi-arid region. Experiments were carried out on late 3rd or early 4th instar la...

Infiltration is the process of water penetration from the ground surface into the soil and is an important process in the hydrological cycle by which surface runoff and groundwater recharge can be linked. Over the years, the importance of the infiltration process resulted in the development of several simplified analytical models for predicting infiltration. These infiltration models range from...
